A bird travel company has been hit by the sudden collapse of its website.

The website BirdTrip has just been shut down for maintenance and the company is being sued by the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI).

BirdTrap has operated in Sydney since 2008.

The site had just under 400 registered users.

BirdTabs owner Nick Dyer says the site is a disaster for the bird travel industry and his staff are devastated.

“It’s a disaster, it’s a nightmare for us and it’s going to take a lot of work to get it back up and running again,” he said.

Dyer has been in contact with NSW Department for Primary Industries director of public affairs, Scott Mascarenhas, to discuss options to save BirdTropics business. “

But right now it’s the only way to continue our business.”
